Old Glory

This famous name was coined by Captain Stephen Driver, a shipmaster of Salem, Massachusetts, in 1831. As he was leaving on one of his many voyages aboard the brig CHARLES DOGGETT - and this one would climax with the rescue of the mutineers of the BOUNTY - some friends presented him with a beautiful flag of twenty four stars. As the banner opened to the ocean breeze for the first time, he exclaimed "Old Glory!"

Boxing Gloves Needed

The hook & loop design is popular for its convenience, but some of the more seasoned boxers like the snug, secure, custom fit of the lace-up style. Preference and comfort are the determining factors. Some boxers use training gloves for other bag work in the gym. The softer foam and more sleek design are sometimes more comfortable. However the foam systems are entirely different. The training glove may be more comfortable and provide a more snug fit, but they are constructed with an open cell foam that will not hold up as well to heavy bag work.

The Mask

The African mask is a dramatic portrait of spirit beings, departed ancestors, and invisible powers of social control. Each mask was made according to a traditional style, and each was worn by a trained performer. The African masks that hang on walls of Western art museums, detached from their full-body costumes, were originally part of whole performance ensembles, consisting of elaborately costumed dancers, vibrant music, and highly stylized dances. These complex ceremonial events expressed important social, religious, and moral values for the whole community. With careful attention to the masks' artistic and symbolic detail, it is possible to perceive these same values within the masks themselves.

Some Like It Trimmed

Why do some men want women to trim their pubic hair? Simple question, difficult answer. If you glance through several decades of sexually explicit magazines, you would see that pubic hair fashion has changed over time. In the '70s, most models had an unrefined and natural look. Magazines from the '80s started to exhibit some stylized looks and the '90s ushered in smaller and smaller patches of hair.
